Edit Flipgrid Settings

Once you have created and assigned a Flipgrid activity to your students, you may wish to make changes to the settings for that topic in Flipgrid.

FLIPGRID MATHiaFLEX DEFAULT SETTINGS 

 

When you create and assign a Flipgrid activity in MATHiaFlex, there are several default settings you should be aware of:

  1. The default recording time is 90 seconds.
  2. Video moderation is OFF.
  3. Student replies are OFF.

EDIT TOPIC SETTINGS

 

Once a Flipgrid Activity has been created and assigned, any changes or edits to the topic must be made in Flipgrid from your Resources tab.

  1. Navigate to the topic that you wish to edit. 
  2. Click the pencil icon to the right of the topic name. 
  3. You may edit multiple settings listed on the right side of the page: 
    1. Topic Essentials: you may edit the topic title, the prompt, the recording time limit, the language for closed captions, video moderation, and any media resources you would like to attach to the topic. 
    2. Access Control: students may access the activity privately through email or username, as well as publicly through a link. 
    3. Topic Attachments: you may add up to 9 external links to the activity. 
    4. Topic Status: topics have an active, frozen, or hidden status that can be scheduled on certain dates. 
    5. Topic Features: you may edit when and how notifications will be received and download and sharing settings. 
    6. Video Features: these are settings related to the recording process, including video and selfie styles, sticky notes, video editing, etc. 
    7. Feedback: you may choose the built-in basic feedback criteria or build your own custom feedback criteria. 



  4. Click the blue Update Topic button in the bottom right once you are finished editing the topic settings.
