Complete Flipgrid Assignment WL

Flipgrid assignments can be found on your Assignments page with all other types of assignments. The teacher assigns a start and due date, as well as a points value for each assignment. Opening a Flipgrid assignment opens Flipgrid right within Passport, eliminating the need for a grid code or QR code. Students already have a Flipgrid account that is tied to their Passport account. 

If you wish to complete a Flipgrid assignment on a mobile device, you do need to download and install the free Flipgrid app. You will still access your assignments through Passport, but you will be asked to open the Flipgrid app when completing the assignment.

You also have access to the full Flipgrid on your Resources page to review past assignments and responses, reply to other students, or review comments and replies to your posts.

COMPLETING FLIPGRID ASSIGNMENTS 

 
  1. Log in to Passport and locate the assignment you wish to complete.

  1. Hover over the assignment tile to see assignment details or click the i for more information. 

  2. A blue flag on the assignment tile indicates that it is In Progress. That means that you have opened it at some point, but have not yet completed and submitted it. Your teacher can also see that the assignment is in progress. over over the assignment tile to see assignment details. Click the tile to open.

   

  1. Click the tile to open the assignment. 

  2. If prompted to Log in with Passport and/or grant permission, click to the button to continue.

 

  1. Flipgrid will open in the Passport window.

  2. You can maximize the size of the screen and eliminate the top header bar by clicking the 4 corners icon in the upper right hand corner to Enter Fullscreen.

 

  1. If you are completing the assignment on a mobile device, you will need to have the free Flipgrid app downloaded to your device. You will access your assignment in Passport, but you will be asked to launch the app in order to record your response.

 

  1. The Flipgrid topic will open and you are ready to record.

  1.  If allowed by your teacher, you will see your classmates’ responses next to the record button. Click to watch their response or reply to it. 

  2. Click the Red Camera button to Record a Response. The recording window will open.  Be sure to allow your camera and microphone permission if prompted. 

    1. Click the book icon to view the prompt while recording. 

    2. You will see the timer (set by the teacher) in the upper right hand corner. 

    3. Click Effects to select filters, add stickers or emojis, text, etc. 

    4. Click Options for more.

  1. Click the Record button to begin recording. You will see the time counting down along the top.

  2. You can pause your recording and begin again.

  3. You can also pause and click Redo to delete and start over.

  4. When finished, click Next.

  1. You will be able to edit and review your recording, go back and Add More. You can also click Add More and start over. When you are satisfied with the recording, click Next to continue.

  1.  You can still go back and Edit video.

  1.  You need to choose a display image for your video.

    1. Use the pre-selected frame of the video or Select frame

    2. Take selfie will let you take a photo on your device and use the filters, emojis, etc.

  1. Or you can Upload photo from your device

  2. You can also Add nametag instead of an image

 

  1.  Once you have everything the way you want it to appear, click Submit. You may see a brief message that your video is loading and then you will get a Success message. You can save your video and/or selfie by downloading, using the link, or the QR code.

  2.  Be sure to click Complete. You will be returned to the assignment where you can view and/or comment on other responses or exit the assignment.

 

  1.  To view completed assignments, check the Submitted tab for items that are waiting for your teacher to score them, and Evaluated for items that have a score and feedback if entered.

  2.  You can also go to Resources and select Flipgrid to view any of the topics and videos at any time.
