Once you have created and assigned a Flipgrid activity to your students, you may wish to make changes to the settings for that topic in Flipgrid.
When you create and assign a Flipgrid activity in Passport, there are several default settings you should be aware of:
Default recording time = 90 seconds
Video moderation is OFF (videos automatically share to the group)
Student comments are OFF
Once a Flipgrid Activity has been created and assigned, any changes or edits to the topic must be made in Flipgrid from your Resources tab.
Go to Resources and click on Flipgrid.
You may be asked to Log in to continue and/or Authorize. Click to continue.
Flipgrid opens right inside of Passport. You do not need to visit flipgrid.com. You will be in the class you had been viewing.
If you wish to view other classes, click Discussion to see all of your Groups. You will see all of your Passport classes listed. If you had previously used Flipgrid, you will also see any other classes you had created.
Click the class you wish to view.
Scroll down and select the pencil next to the topic you wish to edit.
You can add Media resources to your assignment.
You can edit the default settings to:
Change the Recording Time (15 seconds to 10 minutes)
Turn on Topic Moderation. Note that this requires you to approve all videos before they are shared.
Allow text comments, video comments, or both.
You can change other Video Features as well.
Be sure to click Update Topic at the bottom right to save your changes.
